We have all been through situations and experiences that brought us distress and sadness, we might even start to feel lonely and fall into depression. Other times we get lost and do not know how to find ourselves again. Finding happiness may be difficult, but it's not impossible.

Here are some ways you can find happiness:
Focus on problem-solving, not just venting
Take time to build quality relationships with supportive people
Count your blessings and practice gratitude
Take time to engage in random acts of kindness
Respond actively and constructively, celebrating when others share good news with you
Attend to others mindfully, and practice compassion and empathy
Do an activity you enjoy such as a hobby
This list is not exhaustive and we encourage you to find other ways to bring yourself happiness; dont stay stuck. Every individual wants different things for their life, so allow yourself to be curious. Don’t know where to start? EVERYDAY, take about 5 minutes to think about how you can take care of yourself, do something that will bring you even a little bit of joy, or something that is different from your normal routine. Find a journal or notepad where you can make a list and continue to add on to it daily, this will help you give yourself praise for your efforts and amass a list of positivity to reference when you are feeling blue. Remember to talk to yourself, friends, and family, you are not an island, connection is part of what makes up human and can turn this into a fun discussion or a relaxing activity.
